Watertown Volunteer Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief Blake Haun recently received the Unsung Hero of the Month Award for March from Don Scott, left, and Ashley Guthrie of Don Scott Insurance in Lebanon. The Watertown native has been a firefighter with the City of Gallatin Fire Department for the past year-and-a-half but continues to serve in his 13th year with the Watertown department. “There is not any other job like this due to the complexity of it. You never know what problems you’re going to run across,” said Haun, also an EMT and teacher for the state fire school, who teaches in-house at Watertown. The Watertown crew made more than 600 calls in 2017, about seven percent fire-related and 80 percent medical-related.
