LEAL HONORED AS UNSUNG HERO OF THE MONTH

Fire Department of Mt. Juliet (FDMJ) Capt. Mike Leal, a firefighter for 24 years, recently received the Unsung Hero of the Month Award for May from Don Scott, right, and Ashley Scott of Don Scott Insurance in Lebanon. FDMJ Chief Jamie Luffman, left, said, “Capt. Leal is a true firefighter’s officer. His energy and understanding of our craft set a great example for the members of his shift and our department to follow. Capt. Leal understands the importance of putting the customer first and the proper use of resources. No task is very too big or too small for Capt. Leal and ‘C’ shift. Dependable, trustworthy and always positive, Capt. Mike Leal is truly an ‘Unsung Hero’ to our department and our community.”
